Fluid End Valve

Specialty Valve Engineering: Improved flow and life, Better product.

Abetter valve for pressure pumping applications. Oil and gas upstream operations involving acidizing, coiled tubing, cementing and hydraulic fracturing depend on critical components to maintain the highest rate of production at the lowest cost. In these environments, replacing worn fluid end valves accounts for the highest maintenance time. And valve reliability is critical because failure during a job takes a pump off-line, causing delays.

MSI asked LeanWerks to take a close look at the valve options available in the industry (such as Novatech, Mission Roughneck and Mission Service Master) and come up with a better design, better materials and a better manufacturing process. The result? Longer-lasting MSI Fluid End Valve. Longer-lasting MSI Valves increase the time between required maintenance, resulting in longer run times and reduced cost per pumping hour. You won’t find a more cost-effective full open-fluid end valve. More efficient: MSI Valve flow efficiency (Cv) is 15% greater than standard valves, resulting in lower flow velocities, lower wear, and lower power required to produce equivalent pressure. Lighter poppet: The MSI Valve poppet is 10% lighter than Novatech, resulting in lower impact forces on the seat – which extends seat life. Advanced Insert design: The MSI Valve insert is made of a proprietary urethane, and designed with a proprietary curve. These two enhancements combine to decreases stresses, increase allowable operating temperature and improve resilience and rebound in the nastiest oil and water-based fluids. Features & Benefits

Unique three-guide leg design and lower profile poppet result in increased flow area, lower flow velocities, lower abrasion, and longer life. MSI Valve delivers 15% greater flow efficiency (Cv) than Novatech. Injection molded inserts are replaceable, unlike seals which are cast. And they are made with a proprietary formulation that resists hydrolysis in water-based solutions. Inserts have higher strength, better rebound, lower deformation and allows for higher operating temperatures. Curved insert design further increases efficiency and maximizes insert life as a result of even load distribution. No ‘hot spots’ mean decreased stresses and deformation. Advanced materials and manufacturing mean that MSI Valve is lighter, stronger, have better corrosion resistence and improved dimensional consistency. MSI Valve is made from AISI 4140 wrought steel, heat treated to Rc 26-32 and CNC machined from a solid bar. Seat is made from AISI 8620 wrought steel, CNC machined from solid bar, carburized to Rc 60 case depth of .06”, finish ground on CNC OD grinder, and glass bead blasted from finish.
