OGDEN, UTAH — LeanWerks, a precision machining partner serving the aerospace, defense, space, energy, and industrial sectors, is pleased to announce the installation and commissioning of a new Matsuura MX-330 PC10 automated 5-axis machining center.
This investment represents another significant step in LeanWerks’ long-term strategy to build one of the most capable and responsive precision manufacturing operations in the United States.
The MX-330 PC10 combines simultaneous 5-axis machining with a 10-pallet automated production system, enabling LeanWerks to run qualified production jobs continuously with minimal operator intervention. The result is greater manufacturing capacity, improved responsiveness, and reduced lead times for customers.
“Our customers continue to demand shorter lead times, greater precision, and higher levels of manufacturing reliability,” said Reid Leland, President of LeanWerks. “The addition of the MX-330 PC10 allows us to increase spindle utilization dramatically while maintaining the quality standards that aerospace, defense, and mission-critical industries require.”
The new system will support a wide range of complex components requiring multi-sided machining, tight tolerances, and consistent repeatability. By leveraging advanced automation, in-process probing, redundant tooling strategies, and palletized workholding, LeanWerks can maximize productive machining time while minimizing setup interruptions.
Benefits for customers include:
• Increased manufacturing capacity without sacrificing quality
• Shorter lead times on production and repeat orders
• Improved process consistency and repeatability
• Greater flexibility for high-mix, low-volume manufacturing
• Enhanced capability for complex 5-axis components
The installation is part of a broader manufacturing transformation underway at LeanWerks focused on automation, process engineering, visual management, workforce development, and continuous improvement.
“This machine is not just about adding equipment,” Leland said. “It’s about building a manufacturing system capable of supporting our customers’ growth for the next decade.”
LeanWerks invites current and prospective customers to visit its Ogden facility to see the MX-330 PC10 in operation and learn more about the company’s investments in advanced manufacturing technology.
