Quality
LeanWerks is the premier precision machine shop that is relentless in the pursuit of quality parts and elite craftsmanship. Our shop is built upon a foundation of engineering excellence, robust quality management, and a deep-seated commitment to our “lean” philosophy.
To understand the LeanWerks advantage, you need to see our dedication to expert quality. For us, quality is the intersection of elite craftsmanship and scientific process control. It is the assurance that every sub-micron tolerance is held, every exotic material is mastered, and every mission-critical component performs exactly as designed. We remain anchored to our core pillars to ensure that all of our operations meet different industry standards.
The Four Pillars Of LeanWerks
Our commitment to excellence is based on these four pillars, which define all of our operations and products.

- Open Book Management:
It’s our management philosophy that involves sharing financial and operational information with employees to foster transparency, accountability, and ownership. It aims to empower employees by helping them understand how their work impacts the company’s success, turning them into active participants instead of 9:00 to 5:00 clock punchers. - Lean Visual Workplace:
Our quality begins with the elimination of waste. Applying lean manufacturing principles, we can focus on “done-in-one” machining strategies, reduce setups, and limit human error. Fewer setups mean fewer opportunities for low tolerances that can impact the function of a critical mission. Our team prioritizes a balanced flow to deliver products faster, without compromising precision. We top it off with a clean, visual, and standardized workplace that helps us maintain the highest levels of efficiency. - Robus Quality Management System:
Precision through diligent contract review, thorough inspection planning, and a lively quality culture is how we meet high technical standards. We use our advanced knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) , SPC (Statistical Process Control), and APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) to uphold consistent quality results. - Engineering and Tradecraft Excellence:
Machines are only as good as the minds that run them. We believe in quality staff that is full of competent machinists and engineers who take pride in their job. We employ multiple engineers, one licensed PE, and maintain a Department of Labor certified Machinists Apprenticeship Program. Since we are creating the most difficult-to-make hardware, we invest in our people and additional training programs to continue to provide cutting edge machining solutions.

Advanced Technology
In order to achieve and validate close-tolerance work, we integrate the industry’s most advanced inspection technology directly into our daily workflow. Some state of the art inspection technology implemented at LeanWerks include:
- Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM)- Climate-controlled lab used to verify complex 3D geometries and contoured surfaces that other tools can not capture.
- Surface Profilometry- Best for industries like nuclear and aerospace, using advanced profilometers to ensure that RA finishes meet the extremely fine requirements needed to avoid stress-corrosion or mechanical wear.
- Keyence IM-8000 Image Dimension Measuring System- used for instantaneous inspection of hundreds of parts in seconds. Providing immediate feedback to machinists.
- Net Inspect: CMMC compliant cloud based quality management and inspection software that allows our customers permission based instant access to inspection data.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does LeanWerks handle “Zero-Defect” requirements for high-volume production?
We utilize a combination of automated palletized systems (like our NHX 5000 horizontal centers) and real-time SPC. By automating the production flow and using on-machine probing, we can maintain repeatable, tight-tolerance results across thousands of units with minimal human intervention, ensuring every part meets the same rigorous standard.
What documentation do you provide to verify quality compliance?
We provide full transparency and traceability for every project. This includes Mill Test Reports (MTRs) for material pedigree, Certificate of Conformance (CoC), detailed inspection reports, and any industry-specific documentation such as First Article Inspection (FAI) reports per AS9102.
Can LeanWerks assist with optimizing a design that is currently too expensive to machine?
Absolutely. Our DFM (Design for Manufacturability) process is specifically designed for this. Our team will analyze your design to identify features that drive up cost—such as unnecessary tight tolerances or difficult-to-reach internal geometries—and suggest alternatives that maintain functional integrity while significantly reducing machining time and material waste.
